Tami Spry workshop/performance

Tami Spry, Professor of Communication and Performance Studies from St Cloud State University visited the Centre for Narratives and Transformative Learning, Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, September 20-25 2009. In conjunction with the 'identities'theme, she conducted a workshop on performative writing,identity and the socio-cultural body and gave a performance/seminar entitled "Call It Swing: Jazz, Blues, and Performative Writing". Both events were extremely well attended and gave rise to a range of critical discussions about performative aspects of teaching/learning and the use of performance and performative writing, not just as an engaging means of research dissemination but as methods of inquiry.
